Don't remember if this was posted elsewhere, but...Bingding on the Solo!

Kiesel's binding (3-layer, inside: black, then white, then red tortoise) is available on the Solo.

It does change the shape of the body, giving up the forearm contour (so the top is flat, like an AE185, or AC375) but retains all of it's other back-of-body shaping.

Wow , first time I've seen Kiesel use binding . Would love to get white binding on the neck of a CS6 .

They have used binding on a few models (all semi or fully hollow) for a couple of decades. The AE185, AC175, AC275, AC375 (I have one of those), and I *think* also the nylon string CL450 and NS1.

It was always only the one type, though: 3-layered black, white, and red tortoiseshell.

I remember someone got them to flip it around and that looked OK, and the black edge was what you mostly saw...and I *feel* like I remember someone getting black/white/black binding...but they may have sent that in. I don't remember anything more specific than that hint of an inkling of a whisper of a vague memory, though...

They've never done neck or headstock binding. With all the available neck options, Jeff has stated repeatedly that he's not going to do it.

Wow that looks nice. Is the binding true black on the side of the guitar? For many years, Carvin/Kiesel's binding was black & white on top part, with tortoise shell on side part.

I remember someone getting them to turn it around, so that the black was on the outside. I think it was on a black...TL60 maybe? Sh275? darn...can't remember now. But the red on the inside was not super obvious, and was sort of a cool detail.

There was also at least one person who got special black and white layered binding. I know he's ordered a fair number of guitars from them (not JCG fair, but...)...or he happened to get lucky and asked right when they had some around the shop.
