Did you already have that photo on hand, or did you take it special? Either way: comedy gold...but I'd be even more impressed if you just happened to have it.

Already had it on hand. Over a year old.

And here we have, folks, a perfect example of why I'm not a lotto player or a gambling man. I would lose every time.

I take it as a compliment.

I expect your thinking went something like, "Surely Elf wouldn't be so stupid as to take a selfie wearing an orange pylon unless he had a good reason. And this thread gave him the reason!"

But no, I really am that big of a goombah (as my wife would say).

You're a goombah???

Recent shot of Elfdude heading home from band practice:

I know some meathead wiseguys in my neighborhood who would take offense that a nice, normal, square drug trafficking killer "goombah" is someone who would put a street work cone on their head. Dignity, you know.

Seriously, I just thought it was a pic of opportunity--ya had a cone laying around the office for some reason, and you grabbed it for a shot. I thought there was a possibility you had it laying around for a previous goof, but I laid my odds, in classic "me" fashion, in the wrong direction. I have terrible luck in games of chance.

If I used a divining rod to try and locate water, I'd direct people dig to ultimately unearth a deposit of sickly contagious poop buried by a long vanished TB sanitarium of a century ago.

Not to be confused with a "goomba" heading home from band practice.

I think that's what my wife is calling me. 8)

I wasn't familiar with the definition the good doctor shared.
Always good to be educated.
