References for Bolt Kit Builders

Postby Rick500 » Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:35 am

Glad to see this forum here.

For first-time Bolt Kit builders, here are some Bolt-Kit-specific references:

LizzyD's Bolt Kit page

My Bolt Kit page

mge80's Bolt Kit page

Dave Cook's Bolt Kit page

J Frank Carr's Bolt Kit page

Anyone have others?

Well, here be some:

http://www.jfrankcarr.com/carvin_bolt_kit.htm

http://home.comcast.net/~mge80/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.html-.html

http://www.manicgeeks.com/viewstory.php?id=27

http://strangebrew.guidryworld.com/guitar_kit.html

The manual from Carvin.com: http://www.Carvin.com/manuals/gk1-2002.pdf

...and of course (not that it helps to much in the actual build phase, but something to aim at/ideas):
http://www.carvinmuseum.com/playersgallery/gk1kit.html

Might post something about my Bolt+ kit build...if I ever manage to persuade someone to sell me one over in this part of the world:) I still hold out hope.

If you're looking for wood dye, check out W.D. Lockwood in NYC.

www.wdlockwood.com

They make all kinds of dyes in just about any color. You have to call them to place an order since they don't have on-line ordering. The dyes are powdered and highly concentrated. You mix them yourself to the strength you're looking for and since they package in a regular envelope, no high shipping costs. Also, the ladies that answer the phone are very helpful and know their product and all about dyeing wood. Just a fantastic company.
