Bolt Plus Kit Ordered

Postby OakParkMusicGuy » Thu Apr 07, 2016 4:57 am

I ordered a Bolt Plus kit from Chris Hong yesterday. Although I dream of a Holdsworth HH2 I just couldn't justify the cost being a bassist. And I thought a kit would be fun!
Here's what I ordered:

GK1P BOLT PLUS GUITAR KIT

Fixed bridge w/ string saver saddles
Maple neck
Swamp ash body
CT headstock
Maple fingerboard w/ black dots
Stainless medium jumbo frets
14" Radius
Lithium Pickups
Rosewood knobs

I will do the tung oil finish my self

Just wondering if you got the holiday sale type price on your kit like you were looking for?

I really wanted a bass kit. I guess I'll wait until Independence day for a sale.

Congrats on your kit! :applause:

I've always liked talking to a salesman better than the builder. :D
Kudos on the kit - and I applaud your choice of the CT headstock. I think it looks great on the Bolt shape. :applause:

Thanks!

I've been practicing the finish on some scrap wood. I had some Tung Oil Finish and pure Tung Oil. The 'tung oil finish' is horrible.

That is going to be nice!
Love the Kits!!

I have always used Formby's Tung oil and liked the results I got

Does anyone know if they send shipment confirmations for the kits?

from what I have read some people don't even get a ship confirmation for a full on build, so I was curious about the kit shipments

ordered my bolt + kit 5 weeks ago today ...getting anxious :D
the last neck I ordered was about 2 years ago I cant recall if I got a email notice or not on that

I may die from waiting :wall:

Did you order a finish on your kit, or raw wood?

Thanks

I didnt order a finish. There were a few options on the neck/fretboard (see below) and that was it.

I will also admit I was concerned when they announced that the TLB guitar was discontinued.

Sounds great, lots of pics as you go! I think you'll love the Swamp Ash I have it on my Bolt kit and it looks great and is light and great tone!
