Locking Jack

Postby Bass4scott » Mon Jun 27, 2016 8:38 am

I'm building a bass for a friend of mine who wants a locking jack installed. I have no experience with these other than google searches and from what I found it seems that Neutrik jacks are the majority used.
Anyone ever installed or use a locking jack on their guitar/bass? Any recommendations on what product or manufacturers to look at? Any feedback would be great.

Just curious... what's the purpose of this? I always thought of the easy-remove feature of the output jack as a kind of safety that would keep your instrument from going flying if the cord got pulled. I can see it if you jump around a stage a lot, but if that's the case why not wrap the cord on the strap (or use a wireless)?
