Humbucker Mounting

Postby gratefulfrog » Sat Jan 14, 2017 9:42 am

Hi!
I got a boltplus kit a while ago and am just getting around to assembling it.

I've run into a question about mounting the humbuckers. They don't come with rings. The mounting screws are 20mm x3mm black woodscrews with springs.

So how does this work?

Do the springs go under the mounting plate, pushing directly against the body to lift the pickup? But then I would have to drill out the holes on the mounting plate to get the screw to slide freely, wouldn't I?

Does anyone have any "official" assembly instructions for the 2 humbucker boltplus? All I got with the kit was instructions for the hardtail and I can't find gtk1P instructions anywhere...

Thanks for any help!
Cheers,
Bob

Good question! I hadn't thought of that before. Me personally, I'd get some mounting rings.
