B50 walnut fretless

Postby pbd » Sun Jan 29, 2017 5:44 pm

Just finished my B50 with walnut body, walnut stripes in maple neck, active electronics. It came out great! Here's a picture.

Here are some more pictures. That first one was flipped! I'm not really left-handed. (stupid photo app...)

Man, that's really nice looking! Love the grain in the top bout area.
Love me some walnut...How's the weight?
My swamp ash BK50 is a bit heavier than I'd hoped but all else is good.
Almost went with walnut myself even.

Really great work on that! Thanks for sharing.

It is heavy. I'm used to playing my Fender 5-string Jazz bass, so I'm used to heavy, but this seems even heavier. The crude bathroom scale measurement shows it weighs 11 pounds!

But I like it heavy. It's good for tone and sustain and eliminating dead spots (I haven't noticed any).
