ChrisN Songs feat. HH1X

MYSTERIES OF LIGHT

This is one of my originals I wrote way back when. A couple of months ago I decided to re-arrange it and re-record it with my current trio. So here it is, featuring my sixteen year old on e-drums. Thanks for listening.

Chris,

The title for this track is so apt. Your tunes possess a sense of movement that takes the listener on a journey. The dynamics here are pretty incredible, especially the contrast between the first few bars and the searing soloing they lead to, and yet this sense of brightness throughout.

Thanks again for sharing your incredible music.

Oh man...... love your songs. Are you also a fan of Pat Metheny? I'm feeling the influence on Mysteries of Light.

Greg,

I am flattered. So glad you enjoyed it.
And I am looking forward to joining your NGD thread very soon. Your new baby looks (and I bet it also sounds) absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks again.

DWG,

I really appreciate that, thank you!
I just could not resist playing that Metheny lick within the clean solo, good ear, man! Not necessarily being a fan of his, I cannot deny I give some Meth LPs a spin every now and then.

Thanks again!

ONE MAN OF TRANE - The Epitaph
It has been growing inside of me since mid April. Just an attempt to depict my emotional connection with The Man. Thanks for listening.

Great track, ChrisN. If I may say, with all due respect to Allan, I find your more focused melodic style is a bit more approachable than his "way out in space" lines. You really nail the tone, too!

Thank you, Dave. Currently, I am working on Millerisms to make them sound my way. I might share the results here, soon.

darn, how could I miss this? I see it evolved even more from the last version I heard... Excellent job! I love the harmonic development, it's difficult to explain but I think it really outlines a temporal perspective, a bit like a slowly unfolding narrative of past times. Is this something that resonates with your concept for the piece or am I just imaging stuff?

And, I envy your tone every time you post something here!

(BTW, which kind of Millerism are you working on? I've wanted to tackle the 2-1-2-1-2-1 stuff since a long time but I always end up practicing something else.)

This. Are you a mind reader, Markus? :D
I am glad you liked the final arrangement. Thanks a lot for your feedback.

I have focused on altering melodic chords intervals both using open strings and avoiding root notes. That implies some adventurous soloing concepts as well. Also, I have come up with two new HH1X acoustic-like tones which I really like. My next original tune shall cover all that. Hopefully.
