Boy, that burst really did turn out nice. Someone in another thread commented about how nice so many of the bursts have been looking lately, and they were right. And I don't even normally like Kiesel's/Carvin's Tobacco burst!! :laughhard:

I was little worried, but it came out killer! Very subtle on the front side.

Congrats bro, that's a keeper. Waiting for a tone report on those 22's on Korina.

You've summed it all up!!!
All of the old stuff I loved since I first discovered Carvin (show neck through, 5 piece neck, tobacco burst) on a new(old) model with all the new stuff I dig (white limba, reversed inline, REB, offset dots, bevels lol)
A total one of kind single cut.

Run through my craptastic living room practice amp, the M22s deliver the goods.
Position one is a touch bright (no big deal) but still in my comfort zone - 2-5 are just awesome!
I can't wait to plug into the good stuff in the basement this weekend!

Even the logo is TT ish!!

WOW man this turned out just fantastic! And yes that white limba grain shows it off so well. I love how its grain cuts through on the body. And with all the bolt models coming out like hot cakes the last two years it is SO NICE to see a gorgeous Painted Satin Neck again. I think you've hit the jackpot here ---- and on the first try for once!! :P

Will be looking forward to more pics, reports, and hopefully some sounds (hit it Dave!)

Ex-ACTly. Cmon bro, let's get witda program over here!! You got M22's sitting on a cool vintage burst on korina and are all like, "I'll get around to the nice pics for my board homeboys. . . someday."

Dude, that's just (waving hairbrush for emphasis)... very wrong!!

No new photos (lame, I know), but I did get to take the guitar out and run it through it's paces for 20 hours or so.
My dad and his friends have a massive annual get-together / mega-music-jam (This was the 25th)
Three days or good times and tunes - here's a view from stage left: (plenty of amps to test drive!)
stage left.jpg

The SCB is just so comfortable to play. I can't help but feel like the M bridge doesn't get much love these days. This thing is set up LOW! Super comfortable.
The white limba / M22 combo is a complete winner. Yes the SD is a touch bright, but it's totally musical for me. A slight tweak of the tone know and I'm good to go. It hits all the marks for my mucho metal side - it can get downright NASTY and aggressive. The V is just all out win. I spend most of the time playing in positions 3, 4 and 5. Splits great, super cool for leads, sounds just lovely clean. Both are very articulate. It was great to play at stage volumes and really see what it could do. Very responsive to volume knob adjustments. The overall lack of visibility of these old school pups is just criminal. Given the chance, I'd toss or trade my C22s for these.

The old timers thought it was pretty terrific looking and sounding. The burst got a ton of compliments as did the blacked out back of the headstock.
They did get a kick that my headstock was put on backwards!

Thanks Doc!
This one is really an all out win for me.
The only thing that wasn't *perfect is the REB. It looks cool, but it's just one of those things where there's just too much variety. I really wanted a lighter piece. I didn't get one, but what I did get looks just fine with the overall. I knew if I chose black dots I'd get a dark board! :laughhard:
Believe me though, that's just being a nit-picky. I only mention it to bring it to the attention of others in the market for REB. I'm all around thrilled with this guitar.

The TT over limba with the subtlety of the five pice neck (the middle piece looks flamed!) is the stuff dreams are made of.
Simple at a quick glance, but all kinds of hidden goodness if you take the time to look.
It's got that perfect bit of heft to it, and it plays / sounds amazing.

Hey arahoBob, in that shot of the back (3 or 4 down) why is there a line in the neck where the neck burst ends? Almost looks like a set neck axe...

Gloss body w/ a satin neck finish. You're seeing that transition I believe.
I had to have one of each Kiesel neck finishes!
