I just ordered an ST300B!

Chrome Bigsby (yep, a Bigsby on a strat body!)
Fishman Acoustic Bridge.
Clear Gloss on Walnut Body, Flamed Maple Neck, and Flamed Maple Top.
Birdseye Maple Fretboard/Matching Headstock.
Rosewood Knobs.
S22's with chrome covers to make it sparkle.
Straight edges 'cause I think it's retro and cool.

I'm looking forward to having this "all-natural" beauty in the stable!

 WOW! Now THAT is original!

I had to read the specs at least 5 times before I could even picture this guitar in my head. This is like mashing up a Corvette with a Model T.. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing this finished build JS!

Just out of curiosity, did you contemplate a rosewood fretboard at all when you were making your build choices? The birdseye will look amazing of course, but I can't help thinking that a rosewood board might really set off the clear flame maple top, and compliment the darker body and knobs.

Kuhboom...

Yes, I thought long and hard about that. I wanted the top to be very clean with all maple, making the rosewoid knobs POP. I also wanted the brightness of a maple board to give a little more treble edge to the S22's.

I think that will look great and with Maple over Walnut it should sound great also.

I find it hard to imagine what this will turn out looking like.. Sounds like a very solid build, and a unique one at that :)

The biggsby is a interesting touch, but the acoustic bridge is going to be very unique with that. The maple neck/top and birdseye fretboard with matching headstock will look fantastic.. why have I never thought of matching the headstock to the fretboard? >.<

I can't wait to see how this turns out :D

JSMid- you rock bro!

I’m really looking forward to seeing how your guitar turns out. The Bigsby should really complement the overall style/look of the guitar- Very classic.

The first tune that came to mind after seeing your build specs is "perfectly good guitar" by John Hiatt- Very appropriate I think ;)

Congrats!

Thanks everyone - I have been SO tempted to call Carvin in the last 48 hours to have them do an Option 50 and stain the top deep blue, but leave the back and sides natural (a la CT series), but I'm sticking to my guns. I want an "all-natural" beauty.

7-10 weeks is going to feel like an eternity!
