Man, I just love looking at this guitar so much. Did you request the tight flame top potato? Or did it just come out this way? How heavy is the walnut body?

I requested "thin, straight flame" in the comments section (ordered online). That's it. They listened

It weighs a ton, lol. I don't have a proper scale for something this weight but it's significantly heavier than my two RG's. It's got to be 9 lbs probably. I'm sure it's a featherweight compared to some of these walnut basses they build.

Also FWIW I think your C66 should be on the cover of the next catalogue. Just stunning (and ballsy).

I sent Jason an email on Potatoheads JB200C telling him "I can almost see colored fret numbers and pickups and some huge colored knobs on this one! Hint, hint"

Gee thanks potatoehead for reminding me that such an world class guitar exists on this earth, and that I don't have one! I was beginning to forget about it and now I can't get it out of my mind again. That thing is so unbelievably smooth and intricately crafted!!!!

The oooooooooooooonly thing that I can't help but wonder about differently is what if the fretboard was rosewood. I can see that maybe tying the killer patterns of the backside into the front just a little bit. But don't get me wrong, I am in love with it just the way it is!

I just finished watching the Jason Becker documentary, what a great film. It's one of those films every musician needs to watch. Also this thread needs more pictures!

I wouldn't mind owning that tung oil Becker above, I may get one built with a blank ebony board when I can afford it next year or the year after next.

Not enough people even come in or even see the Guitar, Bass & Amp Clubs area thus not enough posts, the DC600 club is just as empty.

Could the JB owners please describe the various tones available on this guitar? I can't find any information in the forums discussing the pickups/electronics package offered on this model. How are the single coil tones? Does the phase switch offer the "Peter Green" type tone? Any increased noise while coil taping the pickups? Does the active pickup feature respond like an EMG? Are you happy with the tones/options, or is it too much?

Thank you in advance. I'm considering the JB model to compliment my HF2 Fatboy. I'd use the JB to cover Strat tones, have the Floyd for vibrato & Vai/Satriani licks, etc. I'm primarily into progressive rock, jazz, & blues. So, the two instruments may cover about anything I'd play. Standard tuning, no slide. My amp is the Legacy II Combo with a Digitech RP1000 for effects processing. Thanks!
