The Video Game Thread

Postby GateZ » Sat Apr 25, 2015 8:37 am

Hey why not right, I know tons of people play games so why not have a place to talk about it. Any video game counts, any console not just the new ones.

I'll start. I don't play much now but I most recently have been playing Xbox 360, I play Destiny, Halo Reach and the occasional Borderlands 2 when I feel like getting my GOOFY on 8)

I'm also a huge fan of 007 Golden Eye and Zelda: The Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64.
Diablo 2 and Counter Strike on PC although I don't currently play them.
Spyro for sega. I know someone remembers this game!
Atari!!! Some of those games I could still play for an hour or two

OK. Ready.Set.Potato!

I do PS3 while my son does PS4 and Vita. While he keeps up with the latest and greatest, I'm stuck as an old-school Duke Nukem fan. I grew up in the era of Pong/Atari, so I quite enjoy today's technology and some of the modern games. I'm all about a compelling storyline, so The Last of Us and the reboot of Tomb Raider were big hits with me.

Nothing like plugging our Carvins into the consoles for Bandfuse or Rocksmith. I tried to melt those games with my DC747, but it didn't happen.

Such a fantastic game. I think I enjoyed oblivion more though, mainly because it's not so dark and drab. Have spent hundreds of hours with both.

Never got into Skyrim myself although I've heard good things, Oblivion was cool I remember playing that a bit when it was first out.

Fallout 3 was another game I enjoyed due to the dark post apocalyptic feel.

I haven't been into video games since Warcraft III, but I play old NES, SNES, Genesis or Gameboy games almost every few days (via emulators). In January, I went through game-by-game and beat the whole MegaMan series (NES and SNES) again. I also dig tower-defense-style games on my phone to play while on the commuter train.

I've recently lost about two weeks of my life to Nintendo's "New Super Mario Bros."
Got a whole Wii setup w/ extras in a pawnshop for $40, and now I'm 6 again.

I've been playing Super Smash Bros. For 3DS and Wii U...I can't stop.

I'm surprised nobody is mentioning Guitar Hero or Rock Band games. Lol. I'll might as well...I hated those games. Lol. I'd love to try Rocksmith one day!

Rocksmith is legit!
I bought it for the lady's little brother, and it was the key to getting him to finally play his guitar.
(Little guy's in a terrible punk band now - I love it!)

Every time I see an update to WOW, it makes me wish they were working on Warcraft IV. :( Never got into WOW.

Me too.... I would probably be so much better at playing guitar if it weren't for those games. So many hours wasted...

I've been having serious regrets lately about the amount of time I've gamed versus the amount of time I have practiced. And yet, all day today was Skyrim...........

Also yes, Rocksmith is awesome. About two years ago is when I got back into playing frequently, after a decade of rarely playing as I started my career and family. I definitely improved playing it, and the game aspect helped hold my attention. Now I own two Kiesels/Carvins.....

So much love for Skyrim. Excellent excellent game.

Also I have recently discovered Minecraft. I never thought I would "dig" that game so much, but it is strangely addictive. And I like the creativity one can have with it.

Anyone play Mario kart on N64?
I've honestly been thinking about trying to find a Nintendo 64 and a few games, that one included, to play with my girl.

I also play WoW. WAY to much of it!

I play quite a bit of FPS type games on PS4 also. Spend quite a bit of time playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare right now.

I do, but I play it with a Logitech PC controller using a buggy emulator on my laptop.
