Really enjoying Jakob Zytecki’s percussive style lately. Also I notice when one of his riffs is too short(or too long) to fill the measure by a beat or two he just starts it over at whatever point in the measure he’s at. I think it gives his music an interesting texture/flavor.

YESSSSSSSS
I got into them with Victory Lap and have been working through their back catalog, and they completely changed my approach to what a punk band can/should do musically.

I've been a fan since the early nineties (they're from my hometown).
Their evolution has been absolutely unreal.

They showed this video as a part of tonight's MST3K charity livestream, and they chatted with the people who did the animation for it. Hadn't heard of this band before, and really dug the song. Listened two it three more times since the livestream ended:

I've always felt like Brian Setzer is one of those guys who doesn't get as much credit as he deserves for his guitar playing skills because most people get caught up in a love it / hate it aspect of the throwback rockabilly style he fully embraced. And with guitar players, there's a trend to underestimate the complexity of certain styles.
I mean you look at a song like "Rock this Town," it's got an uptempo swing beat, a fairly complex structure, switches between rhythm and lead, and oh BTW, he's singing too, all while playing low gain so if you're not precise with your playing, those mistakes will be painfully obvious.
