They were never available in stainless, now they seem to be gone altogether. Always my favorite profile.

I had them on one of my Carvins and was happy with them, although I have gone back to med-jumbo's on more recent builds. If I recall, I tended to use a lighter left hand fretting pressure with them. My first build had tall jumbos and hated them. The guitar went back in the 10 day trial period. The talls felt like railroad ties, and I was constantly playing sharp by pressing too hard. No doubt I would have adjusted, but I just couldn't see any advantage to them for my playing style. That's when I went to the low wides. Kind of reminded me of an LP fretboard feel in a 25.5" scale length. They were nickle and I was afraid that they would require fret replacement sooner than the medium jumbos (since there would be less material to re-crown). Now that Kiesel offers SS, that would no longer be a concern.

Or 25" in my case.

My first Les Paul was a '75 Norlin-era Custom; jumbos were stock. The guy who owned it before me had the frets planed down (and also the sides of the fretboard), so it played super low and smooth - pretty much like my ST300.

The '82 DC150 I had didn't start showing signs of fretwear until around 2010.
