Questions to DC 727 (Neck options, 22 fret neck )

Postby Strings7 » Fri May 10, 2013 6:54 am

Hello, i´m new here.

I need to order a DC 727 (mahogany body & neck), but i have some questions. I hope anybody can help me out.

1. Is a 1 piece mahogany neck strong enough for a floyd rose tremolo in the standard thickness?

2. Carvin doesn`t offer different neck profiles like warmoth on there website, but i read somewhere it´s possible. Is this true?

3. The most important question for me is. Can Carvin build the 727 with a 22 fret neck, i know this change some in the constuction?

Many Thanks!

A 1 piece hog neck should be strong enough if properly dried/treated.

There are a few different neck profiles for 6 strings, but they are non-returnable option 50s, except for the slimmer JB profile

Nope, as a 22fret neck would require very different dimensions; something that would require a new CNC program to accommodate this.
