I finished this late last night and haven't had the chance to plug in and crank it up, but I really liked what I heard through my Fender Twin at low levels. I expect to follow up with a tone report in the near future.

For those that followed my Builder's Forum posts, you might remember that this is the third body (and second neck) that I received in my ultimate 'koa-esque vision quest'. Kiesel sales & support were gracious and professional in facilitating my returns/rebuild. In terms of distance, guitar parts traveled 13,500 miles (5-2,700 mile journeys) to finally become a finished guitar here in Eastern PA, USA. I can't think of another company that would go to the length they did to make me a satisfied customer... Thank you Mike, Kieth and Ricardo!

Thread history (I.e. "The making of...")

Special thanks to everyone on this forum, for your encouragement, advice, kind offers (you are awesome, Apedrape) and for keeping me amused and motivated through this project. If you've never built an instrument, you have to try it. If you have, then you'll remember all the things you want to try "the next time." Like some guy once wrote, "Come on the amazing journey and learn all you should know."

Came out nice with your personal touches. Enjoy. I predict the kits will fade into history pretty soon.

Wow! That

1) looks great (I really dig what you did with the stain to create the trim on the headstock), I hope it sounds just as good.

2) is forum dedication, my good man. You took photos and wrote up a post before plugging in and seeing how it sounds.

Enjoy the fruits of your toil!

Wow. Not only did that turn out great, it's completely unique. It's aways good to produce something for yourself that you can't buy off the shelf from the mfg. Great work!!

Thank you very much everyone. :D It was a fun project that I'll never forget - and it whetted my appetite to build another one.

Dejabluguitar, I hope your prediction that bolt kits will go away isn't true, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me. Get them while you can.

DesmoBob, those sure look like drywall screws to me. But that's what came with the kit. Funny thing - I was showing someone my DC125 last weekend and he noticed the 'drywall screws' in there, too. Who knows, maybe I own the only 2 Carvin/Kiesels with drywall screws as original equipment. Collectors edition! 8)

Thanks mbardu. Yes, needing a top wood for BBE is a policy, not a necessity.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought those were Drywalls!!! LOL

Very nice job - I really dig the top color and the body.

That looks amazing, Mike!! It seems to be just begging to be picked up and played.
Your patience with K/C to get the wood pieces just right is commendable.
The vision and execution of the staining, subtle bevels, BBE, and headstock detail all come together SO well.

You get some of these... :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:
A couple of these
And one of these

Great work, man and I agree. It will be a sad day if the kits ever get discontinued.
Loud and proud brother. Loud. And. Proud.
