According to the stream today, "We haven't even done a run this year because we're so busy, so we haven't even decided if we're doing anything yet. We usually don't confirm until a few days before (you can ask the guys, they'll tell you it's always last-minute), but yeah...don't know if we're going to be doing anything yet."

Based on precedent, though, that wasn't an out-right "no", so i would absolutely expect something. Maybe not as crazy as last year's deals, but probably something...but Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, so I wouldn't expect anything until mid-november.

While it's a band I turn off, I thought American Capitalist was a great, hard rock album, but they kept pushing overproduced covers as singles and the own music seemed to get worse as the interpersonal band issues multiplied. I was officially done with them once their songs started focusing on, "being a rock star with money is haaard..."

I wonder if Jason Hook saw the writing on the wall and found he was happier being home on medical. I *really* wonder if they told Andy James that right after announcing his joining the band, they were going to make a bunch of press making strong negative social commentary in their latest music video. It's hard not to question if they're just courting controversy because they don't know what else to do to stay in the spotlight.

Good for Andy, as he's long said they are his favorite band, and the band is a very smart business and I'm sure it's a big payday.

That said...please don't watch their new video. Holy crap. Honestly. Don't....and if you do, please keep any conversation about it far far away from this website.

Honestly, I'm wondering if Jason Hook saw the writing on the wall and said, let me get out before this stuff ruins my career because his comments were around not needing or wanting to be in a band anymore. So either Andy is co-signing their political statements, or he was completely unaware and got blindsided by it, or, he doesn't care about any of it and is just cashing a check and figures he can use the "hired gun" excuse as an out.

Look, I'm an old fart who thought that the hair and heavy metal bands looked ridiculous. So don't be shocked by my antique opinions... These guys may be talented as h@ll, but, as far as I'm concerned, if looking like a reject from a Madd Max movie would have insured that I'd make it in the music business (or even become a decent guitarist), I would have taken a pass on that opportunity. I know image in the entertainment industry is important, but I've always felt that the music should stand on it's own merits, and not require some outlandish persona to garner an audience.

I half agree. Music should definitely be able to stand on it's own but I also love a good show. Crazy over the top personas and stage shows just add to the entertainment aspect of it all.

At the end of the day though, a crappy song is a crappy song.
