Carvin X100B series iii transformers

Postby kb8ygc » Thu Jun 10, 2021 7:09 am

Not sure if this the proper place for this question or not.

I recently acquired a Carvin X100B series iii. Unfortunately the power and audio transformers were not there. So I found Mercury transformers but unfortunately they sell only the series iv and higher multitap power transformer. I am looking for any information on the secondary windings. I see the schematic but it doesn’t designate the voltages.

There is a high voltage with center tap and a lower voltage AC tap that I have no idea about the voltages. I was assuming it may have been a 640 volts center tap along with a 60 volt tap? The 6.3 volt winding center tap as well.

Any help would be appreciated. I have considered going with the Hammond transformers and was hoping the twin reverb transformer would work for a suitable replacement?

Unfortunately, you wont find much help here. Carvin Audio is now a wholly separate company from Kiesel guitars, the two split about 6 years ago. Aside from anybody on the forum who might have some casual knowledge, there is no formal support mechanism from Kiesel Guitars for Carvin amps or other audio products.

I would reach out to Carvin Audio to see if they can provide any parts information or even sell replacement parts themselves.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I sent Carvin audio an email last week still waiting on a reply.

Hopefully they can steer me in the right direction.
