Lock the hipshot trem

Postby spazmatron » Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:22 am

Is it possible to lock the hipshot trem so it only dives on the headless models. I have a type-x on the way but only want to dive bomb.

Not built in to the bridge. You'd need to install something into the cavity.

On my Strandberg I put a screw into the inside of the trem cavity. If I want it to just dive, I can turn the screw out and have it contact the trem block (so it physically can't pull up) and if I want to have the full range I can screw it back in.

The other (more expensive) option is to get something like a Tremol-No that will lock it completely or to dive-only with a knob, but it's a bit pricey.
